How To Deal With 'I-Have-A-Bad-English' Phenomenon

By Vaibhav Srivastava

Needless to mention, the language English is comparable to a thread which has kept the entire world together. Nowadays, it could be once acceptable that you do not know the language of your community, but it's really unacceptable to say that 'I Do Not Know English'.

However, the major problem with the world is not 'I Do Not Know English'. Rather, it could be- 'I Am Bad At Speaking English'.

But you know what, the English language is a real generous one. Clearly, if you practice it more enough, chances are that you would get better someday and start speaking it rather fluently.

Instead, if you avoid it by saying any of the above quoted phrases, you would rather completely stay away from even getting to know it better, forget speaking it fluently.

So here, I have brought for you some important tips of what to do and what not to do when you are practicing the English language.

If you are suffering from an 'I-Have-A-Bad-English' syndrome, it is advisable not to stay away from the language. Rather, practice it regularly and never hesitate to speak your 'bad English' before others. Some would say funny things, but some would rather correct you. And this is where you really learn.

Never say that you are sorry for your bad English. You are just a part of learning it and an 'English-speaker in making'. Learners make mistake. You should be sorry to yourself, not others.

Do not be too ashamed to speak English, even when you think that the others would jeer you for it. They would do, no doubt. But is the jeering worse than you not trying to learn a thing just because somebody's making fun of you? You really need to ponder over this.

Next, one very important thing is to be patient with the speed you are grasping things. You can never learn an entire dictionary in a single day and neither could you be a Shakespeare in a month. However, with constant practice (at least to the level you are satisfied with), you can surely master the art to at least satisfy others.

Frustration is obvious when you need to consult the dictionary time and again, or when you need to ask people repeatedly to correct your mistake. However, take this in a positive way. The roots are bitter, but the fruits are sweet.

Never ever compare your English skills with others. If English is not your native language and still a person is too good at it, he or she might have worked really hard to reach the level. Rome was not built in a day.

On the bottomline, the English language really supports your tongue when you practice it regularly. And again, you need not be a 'Milton' or a 'Wordsworth'. Just be you and do enjoy your English learning phase.

And for yet some more encouragement, remember that age is just a number when you set to learn English confidently.

Photographer Vs Videographer

By Paul Nandrajog

'Don't videographers and photographers do one and the same thing?' This has often been the cue for a heated argument on the difference between photographers and videographers. It's often required for a video production company clarify the difference.

There are several points of conflict that are causing a rift between professional videographers and photographers. Amongst these points of conflict is that they find that they are competing for the same positions.

Defining Videographer and A Photographer

These two professionals are like skiers and snowboarders. They are completely different in what they do and how they work. It is important for both clients and professionals to realize that their functions are not interchangeable.

A photographer takes photographs using a camera. Professional photographers may work for companies or as individual contractors. They capture a moment in a single image. Several photographs therefore are required to encapsulate an event.

A videographer uses a video camera to capture an event. They capture a series of moments in audiovisual content. They may work for a company or as an individual contractor. A single film can be used to document an event.

Difference Between the Two

Although photography and videography have their similarities, they can't be lumped into the same category. There are a lot of differences between the two.

Photography has been around for many years. People understand the importance of photography and the work that a photographer puts into getting the perfect shots and delivering awe-inspiring prints to clients.

Video on the other hand is moving images and incorporates audio. Video is quickly catching up to photos and other images as a medium of communication. Despite this, many people still don't have a clear understanding of the amount of work a videographer has to do in order to document an event, edit a film, and ensure that their clients are happy with their work.

Things A Videographer Doesn't Tell You!

There's a lot that goes into documenting events than simply holding up a camera. There's a lot that your video expert would like to tell you:

Creating a video takes more than capturing what you see. It's also about capturing sound. Professionals use external sound recording equipment for the best quality. The sound recordings and the audiovisual content have to be synchronized during editing. This isn't easy. Photographers only have to worry about the images.

In order to capture those important moments at the right angle, multiple cameras, and sound equipments are required. This means working with footage from different sources during editing to get the perfect film. Photographers only need to select the best shots even if they are from multiple cameras.

A lot more equipment is required to get the perfect footage. A videographer may need stabilizers, more than one camera, microphones, siders, and drones to capture the event.

Editing photos isn't easy. Editing videos is a whole different ball game. There is usually more than 100 GB worth of footage for any given event to go through. There are also hours of sound recordings that have to be synchronized with the footage. You then have to compile the footage in a way that tells the story.

Videographers and photographers are different but both are essential for capturing special moments.

We at  Visual Communication & Marketing have worked with many clients and helped them achieve success through different video projects. You could be our next success story. Get in touch with us today to gain more information about  videographer.

Who Uses SAP BPC?

By Gracy Layla

SAP BPC Used by

Business End Users:

Business end users are typically the users who will be in charge of the financials generated within BPC. They are aware of the different processes but may not understand the technical details or how each process is coded and programmed. Not all business end users may use the BPC system; they may only consume its financial information. Here are some typical business end user groups one may find in a company.

FP& A Group: The FP& A (financial planning and analysis) group of each company may use SAP BPC to conduct various activities for their daily activities. These activities include but not limited to:
Planning and Forecasting - FP& A groups use the planning and forecasting capabilities of SAP BPC to plan for future financials as well as compare actual to planned and forecasted financials.
Management Reporting - Reporting of financial results produced in BPC and formatted into analytical reports to be presented to management team

Information gathered in BPC can also be hooked up to other EPM tools such as Business Objects Dashboard, Crystal Reports, and other reporting to management

Controlling and Accounting Group: The controlling and accounting groups of each company may use SAP BPC to perform legal financial consolidations. The controlling and accounting group will produce consolidated financial statements from the information and processes established in SAP BPC

Tax Group: The tax group usually uses BPC to calculate tax and tax reserves based on standalone or consolidated financial results. The information used by the tax group can be a combination of information needed by the FP& A and Controlling groups of a company.

Support Teams:

Support teams are usually the system administrators and other IT related personnel who maintain the technical side of SAP BPC. They work with the business end users to ensure that the system is performing the way the business users need and reflects the information that the business users require.

♦ Master Data Maintenance (MDM): Master data maintenance team usually handles the changes and updates required for each dimension required for each SAP BPC environment. (i.e. adding a new entity, changing the description of a account, etc.)

♦ Security: Security team manages all of the people who need access to SAP BPC, type of access they need, and what restrictions are necessary. (i.e. John Smith need to be provisioned for a system ID and should have the entity prepare role with access to entity 1 and 2)

♦ General Support and Development: A support team should be in place to ensure that existing configuration is working as intended, fix bugs, or to develop a new process. (i.e. development of a new reclass process that requires coding of new LogicScript or custom program)

♦ BW or BI: Business Warehouse (BW) or BI (Business Intelligence) groups are needed because BPC is built on top of a BW component of SAP. The BW or BI teams are there to handle any issues arriving with processing of information kicked off in BPC but processed in the BW layer or to build any custom tables to be fed into the BPC system (i.e. YTD financial tables).

♦ BASIS: The BASIS team is the team that ensures the software and hardware components of BPC are installed correctly and connections to servers are stable. The BASIS support team is there to make upgrade any patches to the software or change the hardware resources.

Consultants:

Consultants are usually involved when a BPC project is being implemented in a company. Their job is to gather requirements, architect a solution, design, build, test, and deploy the solution in conjunction with business users. There are normally multiple consultants who are involved in an implementation; we can separate them into 2 types of consultants.

Functional: A functional consultant for    [https://mindmajix.com/sap-bpc-training]SAP BPC normally has some kind of financial reporting, accounting, consolidation or relevant business area expertise. The job of a functional consultant is to

Work with the business end users and gather all requirements, constraints, and other necessary information needed to be able to architect and design the system

Translate all information gathered to the technical teams and work together with the technical teams to architect the structure of BPC and design specific processes to run in SAP BPC

Work with the business users to develop testing scenarios, creation of test cases/ data, deployment and conversion of legacy data

Technical: A technical consultant normally works with the in-house technology team and functional consultants to ensure the following:
Establish the BPC environment, including setup of all users and all necessary security required
Work with the functional consultants to architect and design the BPC environment

Build all necessary components and processes required with the solution including but not limited to:
1. Dimensions (Master Data)
2. Interfaces
3. Reports
4. Configuration
5. LogicScript
6. Custom Programs
7. Business Process Flow

Handle deployment of transporting of code between different environments

Help debug issues with configuration and other code for processes

Learn To Operate Outside Of Your Comfort Zone

By Bob Roth

The college years give students opportunities to learn and grow while becoming more independent and self-sufficient. It is also a time when young adults find that they will be held accountable for their behavior, performance and results.

For many students, being expected to accept responsibility, make their own decisions and being judged on their performance is a new and sometimes uncomfortable experience. Learning life skills usually often requires them to operate outside of the comfort zones.

The boundaries of your comfort zone

will always determine the limits your potential.

Students learn, grow and change by doing things they have never done before, things that make them uncomfortable and things that involve a learning experience. In college that can mean overcoming fear when:

- Making Presentations alone in front of the class

- Leading a group of students on a project

- Speaking Out on something that is wrong

- Taking Calculated Risks in order to accomplish a goal

- Trying something never done before

- Disagreeing with the current thinking

Students who attempt to expand their comfort zones often fail. That can leave them feeling worried or embarrassed. Other competitors may be quick to pile on. It takes a mentally strong and focused student to ignore the negative comments and try again.

There are many more things to learn

outside of your comfort zone than within.

Important Question: How will you take advantage of new opportunities, achieve your goals and reach the dreams that are outside of your comfort zone?

- Research and read about new tools, techniques and ideas

- Be willing to try things that make you uncomfortable

- Focus on learning new skills

- Learn from those who can do what you want to do

- Be willing to see if the old rules still hold true

- Never give up

I am always doing that which I cannot do,

In order that I may learn how to do it.

-- Pablo Picasso

Being scared can be good but should not automatically prevent you from doing things that will help you learn or make you more successful. Only people who can overcome their fears will be able to expand their comfort zones. Stretching and growing is what happens as students achieve goals that seemed impossible in the past. It is that success that will result in the confidence to try other things.

You are where you are today because of the choices you made yesterday.

If today isn't the best day of your life,

make choices today that will change your tomorrow.

-- Rudelle Thomas

Within a world that is always changing, students who practice continuous learning and work to expand their comfort zones will always find greater and longer term success than students who believe that remaining stagnant means they will be comfortable.

Tragic Tale of Great Ocean Roads Loch Ard Gorge

By Paul Beames

Great Ocean Road's Loch Ard Gorge, a tragic story

"If you are saved Eva, let my dear wife know that I died like a sailor," Captain Gibbs said.

Many of us would like a story with a happy ending. A brave young man saves a beautiful lady from danger. The two fall in love, marry and live happily ever after. But that is not how the story ends for Tom and Eva.

Tom Pearce was nineteen when he was an apprentice of Loch Ard, a clipper ship that was bound for Melbourne from England. It left England for Victoria's Port Phillip Bay on 2 March 1878.

After a three-month journey, the cargo ship that was in a full capacity reached the waters of Port Campbell and ran aground near Mutton Bird Island on 1 June. It was dark and misty. When the captain realized the ship was in a shallow water, it was already too late. The clipper collided with a rocky reef.

Of the 54 people including 17 passengers and 37 crew members, only two had survived the shipwreck. Even the 29-year-old commander of Loch Ard, Captain Gibbs, did not make it to the shore.

Tom jumped off the ship and swam across the shore. Upon reaching land, he heard a woman crying for help. A brave sailor he was, he jumped into the water and rescued Eva Carmichael. She's a 19-year-old Irish woman who was to emigrate to Melbourne with her family.

When they reached the shore, Eva was unconscious. Thanks to the case of brandy that was washed ashore that was of help in reviving her.

Tom climbed out of the gorge to raise an alarm to local pastoralists. Two men from the nearby Glenample Station rushed for their help. Immediately, teams of rescuers were sent to save the ship's passengers. But no one else survived. The rest of the people aboard Loch Ard perished in the cold, rough sea including Eva's family.

The young sailor received a hero's welcome in Melbourne. And the story of Tom and Eva spread throughout Australia and England. They were so famous that people wished them to get married. Despite people's wishes, Eva returned to Europe three months later and married an aristocrat. Tom was just a sailor.

A real-life story is often tragic, and most of the time, it does not end the way we want it to be. Tom continued to work as a sailor and returned to England where he died in Southampton. He was 49.

Loch Ard had been sailing between 1873 and 1878 from England to Australia and vice versa with a stop in Calcutta, India. The 1878 trip to Melbourne was the fifth and final voyage. Since 1797 there had been over 800 shipwrecks in Victoria of which less than 200 of them have been discovered.

On 11 March 1982, Loch Ard was protected as a Historic Shipwreck. The cargoes were salvaged. Some artifacts and relics of the shipwreck still remained and stored in a museum that was built to keep the details of Loch Ard Gorge's history. There's also a cemetery of those who died in the incident and a number of plaques.

Loch Ard Gorge was named after the shipwrecked clipper. In June 2009, the arch of the nearby Island Archway collapsed. The two unconnected pillars are officially named Tom and Eva, after the Loch Ard survivors.

You can get to Loch Ard Gorge through the Great Ocean Road 3.5 kilometres northwest of the Twelve Apostles. Climb down the cliff through a stairway and stroll down the beach. You can also slip out to the east side of the gorge through a pathway.

Behind the beauty of Loch Ard Gorge hides a dark and tragic story of shipwreck, heroism, and survival.

Travel Wildlife Tours Australia to learn more about the dark nights behind the beauty and allure of Loch Ard Gorge. This   Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour or   Great Ocean Road Rainforest Tour lets you have a unique southern Australian sunset experience. And yes, you can spend more time strolling the quaint beach of Loch Ard Gorge while listening to the tales.
