Book Review of Turtles All the Way Down

A billionaire is missing and a promise of cash reward fascinates Aza Holmes, a young-adult suffering from OCD and anxiety. While her daily existence is cumbersome due to the negative thoughts that are spiraling her downwards in life, she can definitely look up for a true friendship that awaits her. This is the core theme of the book apart from showcasing the true form of mental illness.

It's not merely a book, but a journey. Apparently John Green has developed a penchant for it. The initial pages are light-hearted and draw your interest but as soon as the author pulls you deeper into the life of Aza, her conflicts, and inner demons, it becomes difficult to read. This is not because you don't want to read, but because it hurts you.

Turtles All the Way Down showcases the true nature of OCD and anxiety from a POV of a 16-year-old-girl. As soon as you read the line 'Whether it hurts is kind of irrelevant', you begin pondering upon the truthfulness of it. However, that is only the beginning.

There is a section in the book where the protagonist wonders what is it that people want to hear when they ask about the well-being of others? Are they merely looking for simple answers? Will they be interested to actually listen? How will they react if someone reverted that they were not doing OK?

The book also deals with loss. Now that subplot has a good reason behind it in my opinion. Maybe the author wanted to showcase how even a person suffering from mental sickness is not exempted from other worries in their life. It further adds to the pain of the protagonist and makes you think.

I loved how John Green has developed the characters. Also, every character has a significant role in both the story and Aza's life.

Another significant thing to notice is in one of the quotes inside the book. "I guess at some point, you realize that whoever takes care of you is just a person and that they have no superpowers and can't actually protect you from getting hurt." Even though everyone around Aza loves her, it doesn't change the fact that she is hurt from the inside. It is true in real life as well. People who care for us might help us sail through our sorrows but they can't protect us from getting hurt in the first place.

Overall, the book is wonderfully written, thought-provoking and a great addition to the young-adult genre.

Is it too late to say your sorry America? When Ben Franklin stated when asked what kind of government was created his reply was "a republic if you can keep it." Profound, yes and yet all indications today point that we have lost sight of what Ben Franklin said. When government becomes to self-serving in a way that is counter productive for the greater good of all that government ceases to be democratic. And, like Ben Franklin has said over 250 years ago " if you can keep it" somehow over the course of six decades we have lost the democracy out of our government.

The challenges we face now seem almost insurmountable. Today, we have a government run by self-serving bureaucrats, we have a nation so divided, and a society no longer composed of a middle class. Is it no wonder then that many feel that America has really lost its way? Remembering a time when a cup of coffee was just a dime and the pride we took to keep our sidewalks clear was the way things used to be. Now, look around and you will see that cup of coffee in so many places is over $3.00 and our sidewalks that is if you have them any more are like obstacle courses, littered with trash.

Remembering a time when the pledge of allegiance was said before the beginning of each school day. That too has become obsolete and even ostracized. Today, it is as though we have been stripped of the wholesome goodness that was pretty much the norm say 60 years ago. Many of us baby boomers have had their working years now deprived of the pensions our fathers had. We struggle now trying to keep up with the ever rising cost of living with the one safety net that is left. Yet, our own government is hell bent on stripping that away too. So many of us are no longer able to keep pace with the rising cost of health care and all the other expenditures that are necessary just to survive in what should be our golden years.

What can we say when you have elected officials who make decisions that actually affect all of us fail to realize what the consequences of those decisions or are oblivious to the cold reality those policies have made conditions that much worse it is time to realize that the United States has really turned inside out. For many years now people sensed disturbing trends inside of government. The will of the people have long since fell on deaf ears. And, perhaps when they do listen we have become incoherent of what government is doing to the public. We just may have become desensitized or too apathetic to really see or care as long as governmental policies don't adversely affect us. Yet, too many times what comes out of Washington does adversely affect us.

With the world spinning out of control it doesn't help when there is this defiant rhetoric coming from the Trump Administration. Whether it is aimed at North Korea, or our own media has made many of us realize the extent of how far we have fallen in stature in the eyes of the rest of the world, They say there is no turning back. We must move forward. But, with the forward momentum driven by the Republicans and the Trump Administration it is as though we actually are moving in reverse.

With all the scientific, technological and medical breakthroughs that really could support not only a longer life but, improve the quality of longer life should be available to all. Yet, the average life span has actually decreased by several years just within this past decade. The quality of life has also diminished for millions of Americans. If this trend continues history will again repeat with devastating consequences.

As a new year approaches should be a signal to a new beginning. Let's hope with the mid-term elections point toward that new beginning. A beginning to restore hope instead of hopelessness and a commitment that just maybe an influx of newly elected officials won't be corrupted by the power of their office. That office is to adhere to the will of the people. Then what Ben Franklin said we will have restored the democracy in our Republic.

Relationships: Can Someone Put Up With Controlling Behaviour When They Are Emotionally Dependent?

When two people are in a relationship, they can continue to express who they are and to fulfil their own needs. As a result of this, their time together will have a positive effect on both of them.

There will be the effect that this has on their relationship, and there will be the effect that this has on other areas of their life. There will then be no need for them to feel trapped and as though they are being held back.

Two Parts

There will be the time that they spend together, along with the time that both of them spend away from each other. Said another way, they are both going to have their own life in addition to the life that they share with each other.

Neither of them is going to act as though they are simply an extension of the other, and this will show that they have good boundaries. Through having boundaries, they will be able to share who they are without losing themselves.

An Individual

And as each of them has their own needs and feelings, this is going to allow them to express their true-self. Ultimately, they won't be in a relationship because they no longer want to live their own life.

It is through maintaining their sense of self, that the relationship will have a positive effect on both of them. The reason for this is that one of them won't have to ignore what is taking place within them and to completely focus on the other person.

When two people are in a relationship like this, it could be said that they will be free. One person is not going to neglect themselves just to be with the other person; this is not going to interest them.

But while there will be relationships out there that are similar to this, there are also going to be relationships out there that are based on control. In some cases, one person will be in control and the other person will be like a slave.

If one was to find themselves in a relationship like this, where they are being controlled, it could be the first time it has happened. Then again, it could be something that has happened on more than one occasion.

They could be with someone who tries to control just about every area of their life; it could seem as though they need their permission in order to do anything. But even though this is going to stop them from being able to express themselves, it doesn't mean that they will walk away.

Confusion

Not only could they find it hard to understand why this is, but the people around them could also find it odd. That is, of course, if one doesn't see themselves as a victim and believes that their partner has all the control.

If they do have this outlook, there is going to be no reason for them to wonder why they don't walk away - this won't be something that even crosses their mind. What could become clear, if one was to think about what would happen if they were to leave, is that it would be even more painful.

The Lesser Of Two Evils

Being with this person will cause them to suffer, but they could believe that this is not as bad as it would be if they walked away. What this may show is that one finds it hard to handle their own emotions.

Putting up with someone who is so controlling can then be a way for them to stop themselves from being overwhelmed. Thus, the reason they need to be with someone who is so controlling is due to the fact that their emotions are so out of control.

The Scaffolding

This is then comparable to how an unstable building will need external support to stay in place. Without this understanding, it would be easy to say that someone like this is just a victim and there is truly nothing that they can do.

On the surface, it will be clear that this is not having a positive effect on them, but at a deeper level, it will serve a purpose. One will then have traded their freedom for security, with freedom being something that is too painful for them to handle.

Awareness

What this is likely to show is that one is carrying trauma, and this could be the result of what happened to them when they were younger. This may have been a time when they were abused and/or neglected.

Comparisons With Others - When It Can Be Good

THERE is one comparison with others we should be making, for our gratitude, to grow in compassion, to train ourselves to see more like God, for our own good. And ultimately for others' good too.

Have you noticed what happens when you compare yourself with those doing better than you? It has likely made you feel empty and envious. It has probably challenged your self-confidence and self-concept. It has made you less grateful for your life and what you have than you ought to feel.

Have you ever tried comparing with others in the opposite direction? - to compare with those down on their luck compared with you; those less fortunate; those who were born in and live in less materially rich regions of the world; those who have suffered disease and loss and addiction in their families.

When we compare with others we see doing better than us, we end up disappointed. When we compare ourselves with more favourable seasons of past, we end up gloomy. But when we compare with others who aren't doing so well, we begin to feel two things: grateful for what we have, and we feel empathy for what they don't have. We certainly shouldn't feel superior, for the fortunes of life are fickle.

Two opportunities present for us as our awareness of our comparative blessedness increases:

1. Our gratitude blossoms into joy, because the more we engage in this way of seeing, the more we see the little things we have that others don't. We enjoy these things more, and we even consider how we might spread the enjoyment we experience to others.

2. With empathy our character grows in compassion. We feel genuine sadness for what others don't have, and we may begin to pray for them, and even provide for them, which we understand we need to do in dignifying ways.

Compare not with those who seem better off, but with those who are worse off.

Compare with those doing better and we feel envious, but compare with those undergoing hardship and we feel empathy.

In November, 2016, the United States elected Donald J. Trump, to serve, as President of the U.S. While there might have been numerous reasons, many seemed to find his slogan, Make America Great Again, appealing, on a variety of different levels. However, with that in mind, there can be little doubt, precisely what, this means, and represents, differs, from individual, to individual. What is your image, of what America, should stand for, and represent, both, to its citizens, and the nations of the world? This article, therefore, will attempt to briefly examine, review, and discuss, 4 often - differentiating images, which, at some point, must be seriously considered and recognized.

1. Image of the forefathers: While we must recognize, the forefathers were certainly not perfect, and times were significantly different, one of the main talking - points, was, All men are created equal. As America evolved, this concept broadened, to include everyone, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, religion, etc. How does this jive, with the recent rhetoric, where Mr. Trump, articulates, often - controversial, antagonist, and sometimes, perceived as being prejudiced, etc? Shouldn't we have learned our lessons, from the past, that freedom, must not be selective, but inclusive, etc?

2. Image of Lincoln, through Roosevelt: As times evolved, so did our perceptions, and needs. From the middle - nineteenth century, through the next 100 years, we began to take seriously, the need, for our government, to provide a safety - net, which securely, prioritized, the best interests and needs, of all our citizens, and protecting the most needy. We began to recognize, education, health care, etc, to be necessary, to life.

3. Image of Roosevelt, through Obama: Whether it was F.D.R.'s commitment to jobs and workers, Kennedy and Johnson's Great Society, and advancement of civil rights protection, or Obama's desire to provide American's with quality, health care, etc, the focus, although sometimes, flawed, was on the best interests, of the neediest components of society.

4. Trump's America: As someone, who has been involved, in political campaigns, and personal consciousness, for four decades, I have never witnessed any President, similar to Mr. Trump! While this may be appealing to some, there can be little doubt, the level of vitriol, rhetoric, and volatility, is unlike, any, we have ever witnessed and/ or observed! Many suggest, many of Trump's core supporters, are attracted, to this aspect, and feel, they are being served, by his focus on opposing certain freedoms, we have taken for granted, for generations! America's image, in the rest of the world, has certainly changed, and it is questionable, if it has been for the better!

If you voted for this President, ask yourself, if his approach, aligns with the best, America, can, and should, stand for, and represent, and whether, his rhetoric has eased conflicts, or enhanced them! What image do you have of what we should be projecting?

Contracts to Product

Closing a deal with another company for the transfer of goods for payment seems like it should be easy. However, when dealing with multiple moving parts in a deal exchange involving two different companies, it can be complex. More specifically, when creating a product that needs to meet a specific specification for resale or company use. That is why a contract is needed. Arrangements can be complicated and involve a lot of work. That is why I've comprised some tips on how to make your contracts as airtight as possible.

Airtight Contracts

1. Negotiate
This is where you don't leave anything out, don't hold your breath. Make your priorities and concerns known. Don't move on to a different issue until the current solution is reached.

2. Document negotiations
Keep track of what everyone is saying. This is important when resolving conflict and creating solutions.

3. Be concise & detailed
You should be able to understand the contract with ease. You should cut any unnecessary words or phrases. The obligations of each party should be spelled out in specific language that doesn't leave any room for mixed interpretation. Having a detailed product requirements and clear Statement of Work (SOW) for the project manager, will help confusion. If not, it will result in the organization not receiving the agreed upon product or services.

4. Include payment details
The objective of a contract is for the buyer to receive expected product while the seller receives payment. In many complex deals with multiple moving parts, the buyer can pay the seller along the way as milestones are completed.

5. Include Language on How to Terminate the Contract
This should be in the contract in the case that one party doesn't uphold their end of the bargain. It will be easier to deal with these situations before they become real life.

6. Don't start until it's signed
There is no need to rush into a project before the contract is signed. This could lead to unnecessary work.

The Contract Team

When creating a contract, it is important to have the right people around you. Finding the correct stakeholders that will produce the product. In a smaller business this might only be the owner and another person, but in a large business, it can involve many different individuals. For example, a large company may have a project manager, engineering manager, manufacturing manager, financial manager or support manager. The objective is to find those managers that will speak honestly about being able to complete your contract specifics. Most importantly the schedule. How long will it take their team to create the product? The worst thing that can happen is not being able to uphold the project's timeline.

The Product

After the client signs the contract, your project manager takes over. If the contract is clear and concise with the correct information to create a specific product, then the project team should have no problem with knowing precisely what they are supposed to produce. Some problems that will arise in the project process can't be avoided but, with these tips, it should help avoid most.

Technology is changing quickly all the time. For this reason, those companies who develop technological products become competitive and the computers, software programs and other digital gadgets they bring forth in a rushed manner are faulty at times. But there are remedies for all of this. What are they? Read on to find out.

The clients/customers have probably invested good money for their digital products. So when they have complaints about these product(s) they purchased, the company should either take care to rectify the problem free of charge or if the problem cannot be fixed, hand him over another brand new similar product from their store. Since the other product had glitches, the company should care to test out the new similar product from various angles and if everything seems okay, they should gladly hand it over to the client or customer and take back the problematic product from him.

What if all brand new digital gadgets of the same family of which the client wants one are faulty? In this case they should refund the client's money fully if he has already bought one of them and promise him that a new rectified version of the digital product would be available in a month or so. To keep up with the competitive market, the company should be good on their word and actually call the client when the upgraded version is available.

What if the company is unable to keep their promise? They would soon be losing all clients/customers who would be willing to shift off to better places. In order to retain their clients/customers, they can offer them a free less costly digital gadget and let them know that they are still working on the rectified version and that they will let them know about it as soon as it is ready. This way clients/customers will be happy and willing to wait in most cases and the company is not likely to lose them.

Yes, with the fast pace of technology, the companies are in a competitive edge to market their products. So when they fall into the rat race, even if they hire teams and teams of people, they cannot guarantee that their finished digital products will be glitch-free.

In order to avoid the above problem, experts in the area should hire experienced and skilled people who can contribute to the greater good of the company - not just people who show promise but are unable to prove so eventually.

Therefore, good manpower and good raw materials form the backbone of good finished digital products without major problems. Without caring too much about competition, they should go at their own pace and make some progress everyday towards finishing their products. Only then the products will be high on quality and demand.

Pain: How to Attract Success

"Pain don't hurt" or so says Dalton in the movie Road House. I loved that movie and I love that quote. The truth is pain does hurt, but the temporary and manageable hurt creates success!

I had the most amazing experience last year at the Denver and Minnesota Success Summits. For those of you that I was lucky enough to present to, you know that over time I have focused my energy on teaching skills, techniques, and strategies to help you get rich in real estate. I gave my first presentation to a live audience in 2006, and have since taught thousands of investors how to make money. I have written countless articles, reports, and a book. I love getting notes in the mail, emails, or people approaching me telling me how I helped change their life. Someone told me that my book helped them make an additional $50,000 this past year alone. You can probably tell that I have a passion and am driven to help people reach their goals, and now I understand that I was missing a very important piece to this mission. Most people need more than skills, techniques and strategies. Many can acquire all the information they need to make a fortune and still be broke. What most people need is the understanding of what it actually takes to be successful.

At this year's Success Summits, I tried something new. I tried to breakdown the fear that prevents us from taking action and tried to give techniques on how to move forward past the fear. I had a lot of fun with the presentation, but it also pulled a lot of emotion out of me and the audience. Multiple people told me I touched them, and it was the exact presentation they needed to hear as the try to jump start their investing. I think one of the reasons I had several people approach me in tears is because they know they have not been taking action, to avoid pain, and all that has created in their life is more pain. That is a hard thing for someone to realize. My guess is people left that presentation being hard on themselves. That is not the point. The point is, now they understand what was holding them back so that they can implement strategies to propel themselves forward. The past is the past, and serves only as an educator for the greatness that is about to come.

If you attended the presentation, you learned that our decisions are based on one of two driving forces. Pursuit of pleasure or the avoidance of pain. We talked about pain being a stronger force, and can easily dominate our decision making. The thought of experiencing pain, even if it is not physical, is scary; which is where the fear that stops us stems.

What is important to understand is that pain supports us. Success is developed by experiencing pain. If you look back through time, you will see that all successful people had to endure pain before the triumph, and that all people experiences what could be considered large amounts of pain. No one is immune to this fact. What makes successful people successful is they can embrace it and learn from it. I also believe that once you start to embrace psychological pain, and are able to reflect on it, you will have no choice but to grow and become more and more successful. Things that scare most of us, like being embarrassed, or being rejected, are things that make us stronger, smarter, and better equipped to succeed.

As we move through the year I will write more articles on the subject of busting through fear in hopes that more of you will start to implement the real estate skills, techniques and strategies that we teach. For now, I want you to understand the reason you make the decisions you make. I want you to understand that the fear is based on your attempt to avoid pain, so you can peel back the fear and focus on what the actual results of your decision. Obviously, you can mess up and create pain through failure, disappointment, and rejection, but none of that is that bad. In fact, it is necessary. Focusing on the pleasure you will get from doing the things you are afraid of will help move you forward. And you never know, if you try something... it just might work.

Race Trumps Love on MLK, Jr Day

On this holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., our nation is witnessing betrayal of our values by a President and leading figures of his party. Events of the past week have answered the question that candidate Trump put to African-Americans during his campaign: "What do you have to lose?" Today it is the entire American populace who must ask: "What has already been lost and how much more are we willing to lose?"

Events of the past week have revealed the true dynamics of the Trump presidency and of a party leadership corrupted by power.

We begin with the televised reality-show in the Oval Office during which the President called for a solution representing "love." Other studio productions of this presidency have featured cabinet and staff members bowing and scraping to their President as they tell him how wonderful he is. This time Democrats flanked the President as he presided over a roundtable discussion. If this were a negotiation, the President would have stated a position or at least clear goals to be met by a final product. But this was a studio President, preening for the cameras, not a wielder of political clout. He would sign whatever came to him, he claimed, and only wanted it to be an expression of love.

The reality show stayed on camera far longer than expected because Democrats began to speak up. When the President agreed with each speaker in turn, the Republicans became agitated and made the back and forth more interesting. There was no sign of a compromise in the making, still the President took no stand other than "love."

Let's step back a moment to look at the broader context before moving to the next events. Donald Trump's campaign for President was notably harsh toward all immigrants. As President, he has taken steps to stop immigration from Muslim countries and to step up deportations of undocumented persons. He also resisted condemning ultra-right-wing demonstrators even after someone was killed, claiming there were good people in that camp. The reason for the studio meeting was his unilateral action against protected children of undocumented immigrants despite the great harm caused by that action. He said he wanted a bi-partisan legislative solution, leading to the "love" production.

Following the meeting, bi-partisan negotiations in the Senate led to a proposal to be discussed with the President. Senators Durban and Graham came to brief the President and walked into an ambush. A Republican and a Democrat who were seeking a bi-partisan approach were ready to preview possible compromises. Hardline immigration opponents in the Republican party, two Senators and four Representatives, were present to undermine hopes for compromise. They succeeded.

A President with any character would not have participated in such an ambush. This kind of duplicity is what anyone desiring bi-partisanship has learned to expect of this President and congressional Republican leaders.

According to Senator Durban, and supported by Senator Graham, the President kept interrupting Senator Graham as he presented the proposal. During those remarks, the President made clearly racist and unacceptable statements about non-white immigrants and the countries from which they came. Senator Graham spoke up to show disapproval, as did Senator Durban.

An international furor erupted when news of the President's remarks became public. Several Republican Senators were among those outraged and demanding an apology from the President. Meanwhile the President held another made-for-TV production signing a proclamation for Martin Luther King Day. Standing with him, smiling and silent, were a group of African-Americans that excluded any of the surviving associates of Dr. King or anyone prominent in the Civil Rights Movement.

Over the weekend we saw repeated what this President usually does. He refused to apologize and lied about what he said. The problem, according to him, was the Democrat who could not tell the truth.

Then came a shameful display as two Senators openly attacked Senator Durban, ignoring the fact that Senator Graham was also being maligned. Either they lied, or they were not shocked by what the President said.

The truth, it seems clear, is that Trump's offensive comments reflect the opinions of the six Republicans who participated in the ambush. They are immigration hardliners because of racism that stands out ever clearer as they defend an ultra-racist President.

Looking back to the question of candidate Trump, now is the time to consider what has been lost and what more we can lose.

First, the Republican party has lost any claim to represent morality or principle. Concentrating on efforts to maintain power, they support increasingly extremist behaviors and policies of a Wall Street version of George Wallace. They have even gone so far as to stand with him in ignoring a massive attack on our country's democratic processes during the last election because the truth endangers the legitimacy of this despicable President. They have placed party rule over patriotism and their traditional concern for national security. The absence of Republican moral principle was also seen in approval of cabinet appointments despite ethical compromises and lack of relevant experience.

Second, Republicans in congress are violating their oaths to uphold the constitution by supporting, either vocally or silently, attacks on the independence of the justice system. Presidential statements putting himself above the law have been supported by actions to stop or interfere with investigations into his campaign. In the process he has actively undermined the intelligence gathering agencies of our nation along with all career non-partisan federal employees. Sufficient justification for an impeachment process has long existed, but Republicans in the House of Representatives are focused on holding on to power.

Finally, our friends and allies all over the world have lost confidence in the reliability and stability of the United States of America. They see the unstable and even lunatic behavior of a President actively fomenting war with North Korea and Iran. They see a Republican administration actively undermining all international agreements for partisan gain. They see an America deserting previous commitments to democracy and human rights without serious congressional response.

In the eyes of the world, the Republican party of Trump is what the United States stands for on this Martin Luther King Day. Those exercising power in our country are actively undermining everything Dr. King stood for.

How long before Donald Trump tries to repeal this holiday to please a base that wants to restore their ultra-right version of American greatness?

President Trump: Telling The Truth, Thinking He Is, Or Lying?

Whether one is a supporter of our current President, or opposes his approaches and policies, it is important to agree, Donald J. Trump, has certainly, in his first year, approached and performed his position, significantly differently, than any of his predecessors, in recent memory! For some, this may be, exactly what they hoped for, but, for many others, it is often frightening, and/ or upsetting! Polls indicate Trump has amazingly strong, seemingly solid and unshakable support from approximately 35% of the American public (what is often referred to, as his core supporters, or base), but also has an unprecedented, high unpopularity level, as well. Obviously, where one falls in this spectrum, will often have a lot to do, with perceptions of the man, and his performance. Political fact - checkers claim, Mr. Trump has either lied, or made a significant misstatement, and average of 5 to 6 times, per day, since he took office, and this article, will attempt to briefly examine, review and discuss, 3 possibilities for this: 1) He's telling the truth and most others are lying; 2) He thinks/ believes he's being truthful; or, 3) He's lying.

1. He's telling the truth, and most others are lying: It seems like, in issue - after - issue, someone accuses this President of lying, and/ or, at the very least, being free - and - easy, with the facts! Mr. Trump consistent calls those he disagrees with, names, and claims they are liars! Even when something is taped, or witnessed, he continues to deny, or says it's taken out of context. He refers to the media, as Fake News, and it is reported, he rarely reads, in detail, but gets most of his news, either from a media partner, which supports him, such as Fox News and Breitbert, and claims the other television networks, and newspapers, websites, etc, are lying! In fact, if he is telling the truth, we must be witnessing, one of the most thorough, well - orchestrated efforts by his opponents, because the vast majority of media outlets, often oppose his statements, etc. Whether this is about the Russia investigation, his firing on the FBI director, his rhetoric and/ or promises, etc, either his words are tainted, or, indeed, there must be some grand conspiracy, against him!

2. He believes he's telling the truth: Pathological liars, often, seem to believe they are being truthful, and have been known, to pass, lie - detector tests, because they seem to convince themselves! I am not claiming Trump, is pathological, but, if he is, it would be, even more dangerous. He consistently accuses the Democrats, of poor political, obstructive behavior, seemingly because, they don't go along with his ideas, etc. How many times have we witnessed this President, clearly lying, but. while his opponents find this behavior, concerning, his supporters, either believe him, don't care, or drank too much Kool - Aid!

3. He's lying, and/ or a congenital liar: For the sake of full - disclosure, and fairness, I must admit, this is what I have come to believe. Examining his life's work, he has lied, consistently, and continues to do so! Denying his own words, contradicting himself (with his words), or articulating rhetoric which seems to be at - odds, with his behavior and/ or actions, appears to be a classic case, of lying!

Why is President Trump perceived as being a liar? Is he misunderstood, a typical politician, nuts, crazy as a fox, being persecuted, or a congenital liar? You must decide!

This Guy Is An Inspiration

In an article that I wrote a few months ago, I spoke about someone who I met whilst I was at a spiritual shop a few years ago. His name was Ian Baillie, and this was someone who was into past lives.

At the time, this was not something that I knew much about, but I was open-minded and keen to find out more. This started off with him talking about who he thought I was in one of my past lives.

A Few Connections

Firstly, he said that I was a confederate general in one life and, after a while, he said that I had a connection to Athens during the golden age. I thought this was all very interesting and I thought about how I hadn't come across anyone like this before.

In addition to this, he also went into some of the lives that he had had in the past. When it came to the life in Athens, I said that I had always enjoyed watching films like 'Gladiator and 'Troy'', and that there was something about Greek history that pulled me in.

A Powerful Experience

As an aside, at the beginning of this year when I was working with someone who did something called Life Activation, I had this vision of being an orator in Greece or somewhere similar. I was in a room and was walking towards a balcony.

This could be me tapping into a memory, or it could just be a creation of my own mind, who knows. It might not have any relevance, but this moment did have a big effect on me.

A Reading

A little while after we had first met, Ian said that I might enjoy going to see someone called, Grant Colyer. Grant was a psychic medium, which meant that he had the ability to tune into what someone had been through in other lives.

I had had readings in the past, but I hadn't experienced anything like this before. Even without going into the ability that he had to tune into my past lives, he was incredibly intuitive and tuned in.

A Team

It was during this time that it was said that I had a connection to Orville Wright. But with that aside, it is clear that Ian and Grant make a great team; with the former getting an idea of what someone has been through in the past, and the latter going deeper into what has been revealed.

Along with Ian's Interest in past lives, he also has a degree and a broad understanding of history. At a time when a lot of people at his age are winding down, he is more active that people who are half his age.

A Lifelong Pursuit

It is not common for someone to stop learning as they get older and for their mind to gradually close. Ian, on the other hand, is only too happy to learn new things and to do what he can to maintain an open mind.

That Fresh New Start You're Hoping for

EVERY New Year brings the opportunity for hopes that are dreamt of in nearly all people, whether they're purveyors of resolutions or not. Are there any resigned to a life that falls into the pit of despair?

But our hopes for an improved year (if 2017 in this case was a bad one) can be dashed through the experience of a bad New Year's Day.

Soon enough unconscious expectations make their move into the conscious realm. We can begin to crave release from the annus horribilus of the previous year. Such a craving steers our perception into a desperate sort of seeking. Any other eventuality than what we planned for seems like a continued failure, and the dreams of New Year, and a fresh new start, are quickly given up as unrealistic. Then deep disappointment sinks in.

We may even feel so foolish as to hide deep inside ourselves, withdrawing from the life that would certainly bring release.

New Year is an opportunity for a fresh new start, that is for sure. Yet, just because the first day or early days of New Year seem no different from the past year doesn't mean we should give our dreams up. If anything, we're counselled to press even more deeply into the wishes we have for change.

The early days of New Year are blessed most with perspective that persists if we desire change. No change occurs overnight. As we keep that in mind, a ruined New Year's Day and/or days following are not the defeat they seem to be at all. Change comes from a renewed and resolute mindset.

These doubt-filled days are simply a reminder that if change is to be brought about we need to persevere.

As nothing of worth was ever achieved in a day or two, we're best to take the pressure for success down a few notches. Success is not brilliance, it comes with diligence.

If you don't succeed immediately, don't give up. Real hope is impossible to disappoint.

There is one thing worse than the pain in the sacrifice required to achieve a new goal; it is continuing to believe you are on the right track without changing anything.
