Is Your Body Language Helping Or Hurting You in the Interview?

By Erin Kennedy

Have you ever looked at your friend and known exactly what they were thinking, without them saying a word? Their face and body language spoke a thousand words. What you say during your executive job interview, obviously plays a huge role in determining whether you get the job. In the same way, your body language is communicating, as well. You've worked hard to optimize your LinkedIn profile to get noticed and, eventually land an interview, so learning some body language tips will help you succeed once you get there. Here are some of the top executive interview tips people don't think about, but should.

Trust is Communicated Through Eye Contact

Eye contact is crucial. It establishes trust. Always make eye contact with your interviewer. People who don't make good eye contact might have something they're hiding. Of course, try to avoid staring as much as possible, so looking away occasionally will reduce some awkwardness.

Show Confidence With a Firm Handshake

When meeting your interviewer, give them a strong handshake. This shows them you are confident, even if you don't feel it inside. Practice with peers or family members if you have to. A good handshake is memorable to an interviewer, since it's likely the first in-person impression they have of you.

Good Posture is Important

Your mother was right. Posture is important. No interviewer wants to see a slouch in the chair across from them. Slouching or posture other than sitting up straight shows you may not be too interested in the job. Even worse, slumping in your chair may indicate a lack of confidence, no matter how strong your executive profile is.

Try to be Natural

It's normal to be nervous when thinking about the interview. Being prepared helps reduce this nervousness. But too many people spend way too much time studying interview questions and rehearsing their answers. While this is good to an extent, studying too hard can make you sound unnatural. If you used an executive resume writer to polish up and make your resume sound natural, translate some of their tips for your interview. Things like nodding and smiling are natural gestures, so don't hold them back. The hard part is noticing the gestures you make as a nervous habit, so be careful not to use them to the point where they become unnatural.

We can help you by giving advice on how to land interviews, what to do in interviews, and even how to optimize your LinkedIn profile, just to name a few. What Makes A Wig Great?

By Idd Aziz

There has been a widely debated topic on what makes up a great wig, these debates though has mixed reactions from men who utterly hate wigs but cannot tell between a human hair wig and a synthetic one. Not to worry about it, in this article, we focus and delve on this topic to give a brief conclusive idea on what makes one wig over the other.

There are many types of wigs, to begin with, and they all have admirers and women who wear them daily as their regular hair. This, therefore, does not mean that just because you consider one type as the best, everyone else will agree with you, at least a certain percentage of users will differ with your view.

Human Hair Vs. Synthetic Wigs

Both make up this huge market for wigs and they are the main two categories based on wig make and material. Human hair wigs are expensive and commonly preferred over the other just because it has all the characteristics of the natural hair, easy to style, similar hair thickness, and other appealing traits. On the other hand, we have synthetic wigs which are cheap and available everywhere, they are not as priced as their counterpart, but that has made them more popular and wider preference.

The cutting edge in this debate

Based on the various differences that may be brought about it will always boil down to these following factors to decide what makes a great wig.

Durability, is the wig able to give you the services that you need and for the right amount of time? Then if you get this one then that is the best one for you.

Your planned budget, many people cannot afford the human hair wigs mostly in the rural marginal regions. Therefore, to them, financial issues play a key role in deciding which the best is for them?

The preference that is dictated by factors like skin complexion and other body features, everyone has their taste in wigs and it is that which makes them look great. Wigs such as bob wigs are commonly known for the dark complexion people while blonde long wigs are for the light skinned.

Conclusion

To decide what makes a wig great you must be in the shoes of the person deciding, you must be able to answer questions such as does it make me look good?, can I afford it? How do I feel when am wearing it. The real value can only be got from how well it meets your taste and desired look.

If you are looking for   middle part bob wigs or   Wet And Wavy Wigs visit the given links to know more and order.

Artificial Intelligence And Crowdsourcing

By Robert K Janis

Humanitarian organizations focused on providing aid during emergencies are also turning to artificial intelligence to assist them in their mission. More and more they are becoming involved in the digital world and are starting to use imagery including Instagram, professional and news article photography as well as accompanying news articles, satellite and aerial imagery through source sites like Meerkat and YouTube as well as broadcast videos. There is so much of such data on the Internet that finding the relevant data is very difficult if not next too impossible. However, now the Humanitarian groups are starting to use crowdsourcing to assist them in interpreting the massive reams of data.

What Is Crowdsourcing?

The term crowdsourcing refers to the use of the public to perform business-related tasks that a company would normally do itself or outsource to a third party.

The public is providing all sorts of data in such things as blogs, YouTube, Facebook and other social networking sites and more. You might say that crowdsourcing is using millions of human minds otherwise ignored and involving it into the world.

This model can be used to perform a whole lot of tasks for business from creating advertising campaigns to testing new product concepts and solving research and development issues.

Crowdsourcing can make a business more productive and creative and minimize labor and research costs. Using the Internet to tap into this reservoir of ideas can speed the amount of time in takes to collect data through other means including focus groups or trend research.

Already a number of companies are using it in their business. They include:

Netflix, the online video rental service that uses the technology to improve its software algorithms to provide customers with video recommendations.

Eli Lily and DuPont are awarding cash prizes to people who can solve tough research and development issues.

CambrianHouse.com encourages the public to present ideas for software products, vote on them, and collect royalties if their ideas, results in a product.

iStockphoto.com wants amateur and professional photographers, illustrators, and videographers to submit their work and earn royalties when their images are bought and downloaded. This may or may not have been the reason why Getter Images acquired the company for $50 million.

Combining Crowdsourcing With AI

One humanitarian group that has combined crowdsourcing with AI is the Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Response (AIDR). It is using AI powered with crowdsourcing to automatically recognize applicable tweets and texts messages. AI learns to identify the relevant patterns in real-time helping AIDR to automatically identify future tweets and messages. This assists the organization to efficiently manage disaster response.

A company named Metamind is using photographs to identify infrastructure damage and then using the data with AI and crowdsourcing to create accurate algorithms to automatically find disaster damage.

A British company called WireWax is using a combination of AI and crowdsourcing to detect a number of features in videos.

A group at Carnegie Melon University is developing algorithms using AI and crowdsourcing to identify evidence of gross human rights violations in YouTube videos coming from Syria.

DigitalGlobe is using AI powered by crowdsourcing to automatically identify features of interest in satellite and aerial images.

In the not-to-distant future humanitarian organizations will obtain algorithms like we obtain apps from an app store that have been trained to automatically detect certain features in texts, imagery and videos that are generated during disasters. Moreover, the algorithms will be able to "talk to each other" and integrate other feeds including real-time sensor integrated into the Internet of Things through data fusion software that already exists as well as others that are coming.

WorkFusion, a software manufacturer, identifies the different   key concepts of AI now possible for your business including Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Cognitive Automation, and Digital Workforce.

This is an important clothing item which should be carried around if you are heading out for rough terrains. They also have a lot of utility pockets on the front and side allowing you carry a plethora of items in it.

This is an important aspect of hunting where you use the calls used by deer to draw them near your line of fire. There are different calls that make different sounds like grunts, bleats, and rattles which definitely attracts the curiosity of the deer and brings them near you so that you can take a perfect shot.

Handheld GPS

Carrying a GPS device with you is vital when you are heading outdoors. This ensures that you are never lost out in the wild and can enable you to know your exact position at all times. Even if you wander off your path, you can rest assured that you will be back because of GPS.

Scopes

Your target may be far away and taking a shot may result in a miss, which would startle the deer and it can run away, which is not a desirable end result at any cost. This is where scopes come in to help. They allow you to zoom into your target and provide accuracy in your shot every time.

Tree stands

Tree stands are one of the indispensable tools in the game of deer hunting. These stands are capable of attaching themselves to the sides of the trees and allow you to sit on the top. The Benefits of Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

By Shalini Madhav

White teeth have an important impact while presenting yourself. This is why everyone wants whiter teeth these days. Moreover, dental health is very important too. Thanks to a lot of products like toothpaste, this feat is now a comfortable task to achieve. But recently a new product is being used extensively for whitening of the teeth called activated charcoal. But what is it?

What is Activated Charcoal?

It is a form of carbon, which is processed to have a plethora of small pores. These small pores increase the surface area of the carbon which increases processes like adsorption and other chemical reactions. It is basically increasing the sensitivity of carbon towards reactions by processing it.

Should we use it?

Yes, definitely. In small doses, it is not harmful to us. However, precautions have to be maintained.

The benefits of charcoal teeth whitening powder

Recently there has been a surge in the popularity of using activated charcoal for whitening your teeth. There are a plethora of articles and thousands of videos on YouTube that discuss the same topic. The reason for this popularity is that it achieves effective results. So, let us explore its various benefits in teeth whitening for ourselves.

Whitens teeth

Activated charcoal is a natural teeth whitener. Any kind of stain can be removed by the application of its powder. Moreover, regular use of activated charcoal has proven to whiten the teeth over time. It also regulates the health of your gum. It can whiten the teeth with no sensitivity. Even people who have sensitive teeth can opt for this whitening solution.

Dental health

Activated charcoal is an excellent adsorbing agent. Adsorption is a process of holding a thin film of the material on the outer surface. What this implies in our case is that it is a very good adsorbing agent and it can adsorb plaque and microscopic tidbits present on your teeth. Not only does this process results in whiter teeth, but also promotes a good dental health.

Strengthens your teeth

Many activated charcoals present in the market are laced with various benevolent minerals which can be used for the health of our teeth. They can be used for keeping your teeth healthy and strong. Fluoride in toothpaste is used for the same purpose but is dangerous for us in various ways. But using it, on the other hand, is relatively very safe and promotes an overall dental health which is very vital for healthy living.

Regulation of pH levels

Another important use of activated charcoal is that it regulates the pH level of our mouth and restores it to an optimum level which is required for a healthy living. PH levels in our mouth affect our overall dental health. If the pH level in our mouth is not the optimum number, then it can trigger the growth of bacteria which can lead to many problems such as tooth decay, cavities etc.

Thus, activated charcoal provides a lot of benefits in our dental health. Not only does it whitens our teeth, but also promotes overall dental health.

If you want to use activated charcoal too and take care of your oral health whilst whitening your teeth, then I strongly recommend you to visit http://www.fiberganic.com. Their wide varieties of dental care products are fantastic and help you to achieve effective results faster.

What Is The Color Of Money In Your Negotiations - Negotiation Tip Of The Week

By Greg Williams

"I'm a grown man and I don't want my bedroom painted pink!"

Those were the words of an exasperated man exclaiming his displeasure to a movie scout, that wanted to paint the man's bedroom a color that the man didn't think was manly. The scout had very excitedly told the man how perfect his house was for a scene that had to be shot within a few days for a movie with a big budget. The scout had also let on that the movie company didn't have a lot of time to investigate other properties. The more the scout talked, the more he placed his negotiation position in jeopardy.

In reality, when the man was stating his displeasure with the color of the room, he did so as a setup to extract more money from the movie scout.

What ploys do you employ to enhance your negotiation position? Do you know what the color of money is (opportunities) in your negotiations?

The following insights will allow you to quickly identify hidden opportunities in your negotiations.

When the other negotiator constantly talks, let him. The more he talks the better off you'll be. He'll divulge information and insights that you'll be able to use in the negotiation.

Before your negotiation, consider what points of leverage you can obtain, simply by placing a strategic objection at the appropriate time. Opportunities occur in every negotiation, but they'll be missed if you don't know what to look for. Plus, if you plan for them, you'll be more mindful of how you can promote them to

To be even more effective, consider the rebuttals that might be offered to your objections. Then, think of the body language you'll exhibit to assist in your ruse. As an example, you can display disgust by curling one corner of your lip. Even if the other negotiator is not aware at a conscious level of what that means, he'll sense it at a subconscious level. Depending on his overall demeanor and the timing of the display, he may adopt a mercurial nature that states, you can go faster, or that it's time to slow down. Be aware of which one it is. Nevertheless, when body language and words are synchronized, your words have a more powerful impact on your

Know when to forge forward with a request and know when to ease up. Such direction can be gleaned from the reaction of the person you're negotiating with, based on the body language and words they use to respond. As an example, if you receive several concessions as the result of your ploys, you might consider giving in to a hard and strident pushback you receive. The theory is, let him win sometimes, so he'll grant you more concessions.

Always be mindful of your emotions. The more you keep your emotions in check, the greater control you'll have over them, and the other negotiator.

In the opening situation, I described how a man used the color pink to obtain more green (i.e. money). If you're observant of situations that offer you the opportunity to enhance your negotiation position, you too can gain more from every negotiation you're in... and everything will be right with the world.

Remember, you're always negotiating!

The curiosity over the universe, space and the planets have caused many people to write stories on them. The following are the best 5 space stories.

A Trip to Venus is a storybook published back in the 1897. At that time, no one knows that rocket can be used to travel between planets. By Gerry Cryer

There was a day, long ago when with other families we were all walking one bank holiday in the countryside. The sun was shining, and the children were happy and running on the narrow rural roads. I think it was Louise who asked when we arrived at the pub for a rest if I had seen the helicopter in a field. To this day I don't know if she was teasing me because my powers of observation are notoriously poor. I could easily have walked past something as large a helicopter and not seen it.

This week a problem for the Labour party, the official parliamentary opposition, won't go away. They have been accused of being anti-Semitic. I believe their leader Jeremy Corbyn when he says he is against all prejudice, but he needs to get a grip on his party and do something.

Europe is forever scared with right-wing anti-Semitism but from the left, it is new to me. I don't know where it comes from but possibly it is the conspiracy theory that business, banks and capitalism are a Jewish cabal. You will need to find the anti-Semites an ask them.

It is a problem that has been rumbling under the surface for a long time. Ken Livingstone, the former MP, and Mayor of London is still under review and not kicked out of the party for very unsavoury anti-Semitic remarks. Len McCluskey, the leader of the Unite trade union, one of the largest donors to the party, talking of the allegations last autumn said it was 'mood music'.

I am not in the Labour party. I might not care much for their political opinions, but I do care for the health of our democracy.  I don't know if it is institutionally anti-Semitic but there is a helicopter hiding in their midst and the party leadership needs to find it and do something immediately. It is imperative for the future of the Labour party and our democracy.

However, and there is always a big however, I am not going to walk totally with the liberal left and say that I approve of every policy of the State of Israel. In fact, I disagree with quite a lot. I am walking into the mire that is anti-Zionist.

I lived in Dubai and there were a great many Palestinians working for me, and with great sadness, I used to listen to their stories of homelessness, loss, and a life without a passport. At times it was harrowing. Like many, I watched with horror as Israel bombed the children of the Gaza strip in 2014. I wanted it to stop every bit as much as I wanted the Palestinians to stop bombing Israel.

What happened in the Second World War to Jews has awful beyond comprehension. It affected not just a whole race but everyone. It was pivotal to my father's personality. He was a young Captain in the Royal Engineers at the end of the war and was one of the first into the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. He never would and never could talk about it, but I know it changed him forever.

Indirectly in May 1948, the sum of all those experiences led to the acceptance of Israel as an independent State recognised by the United Nations. This wasn't only a reaction to the horrors of the war but a continuation of attempts for resolution initiated with the 1917 Balfour Declaration and the 1920 creation of the British Mandate of Palestine.

I also fully understand the Israeli State's needs to maintain security. I would be very upset if the British government stopped defending my country, however, and here we go again with another however, I do not think that that allows the Israeli government the right to annex land and make the Palestinians wandering, homeless, nomads.

I am willing to be educated in informed debate, but I am not willing to be called anti-Semite or anti-Zionist because I disagree with the Israeli Government's policies. The Holocaust will never, ever be forgotten but there comes a time when we must move forward. Not everyone who disagrees with Israel's actions is prejudice. I am not pro-Palestinian, nor I am pro-Jew. I am not anti-Semitic nor am I anti-Zionist, but I am pro-peace.

5 Signs That Reveal a Psychological Problem in a Older People

By Joseph Emeka Odoh

That is why people in the environment of the elderly must be alert to any symptoms that may betray a psychological problem of this type. Some of the signs that may indicate that the oldest is going through a bad situation and needs the help of a psychologist are:

Lack of hygiene: when a person stops taking care of themselves, as long as they do not have physical limitations, it is a sign of apathy and possible depressive process.

Unusual, extreme and prolonged tiredness:  it is one of the most common symptoms of depression, as well as the usual muscular and headaches.

Lack of interest and apathy:  when a person shows little interest in what was previously passionate and has no new hobbies, it is possible that he is going through a depressive process.

Timing imbalances:  Although somnolence may arise for many reasons, one of them is nighttime insomnia derived from an anxiety process.

Weight changes:  Whether the person gained a lot of weight or if he loses it in a short time, it can indicate that he is going through a bad emotional moment.

How to encourage the elderly to see a psychologist

One of the great barriers that separate the older adult from the psychologist is the stigma created around this health professional that many still think that only serves crazy people. A myth still rooted in many sectors of our society, and perhaps even more among the elderly.

There is still a lot of rejection at the time of going to the psychologist's office because it is assumed as a sign of weakness; There are many cases, especially among older men, who prefer to have a bad time and hide it, than to recognize that they have a problem and need help.

The worst of this situation is that a psychological assistance in very few cases results to "cure without drugs". On the contrary, it gets worse and can become a chronic disease that needs to be treated with drugs.

Therefore, when a family member, friend or caregiver is aware that the older person needs psychological therapy, but is reluctant to take the step, he or she can be encouraged and helped to contact a psychologist in different ways:

Make him see that the psychologist is a health professional more as is the dentist, the physiotherapist or a nurse, and the only thing he will do is help you improve your health, and not assess or judge your situation.

Although the therapy will be done by himself, he can be accompanied to the first appointment to talk with the professional and tell him about his case. Taking the first step with a person you trust brings security and peace of mind.

It is important to erase from your mind the idea that the psychologist only attends to patients with serious psychological problems. For this, you can give examples of people from their environment, of any age, who have seen the need to go to solve a problem not necessarily serious and obtaining great results. If you are aware that anyone may need therapy, it will be easier for you to assume that he or she may need it, too.

If in your environment; there is a person who has gone to a psychologist, you may be asked to speak with him or even be the person who accompanies him on the first appointment to meet the professional. It will be easier for you to go to one that arouses confidence because you have helped someone close to you than to ask for an appointment with a stranger.

In the case that the older one needs to go to the psychologist as a result of suffering from a disease, he can previously go to an association of patients with said pathology. There, in addition to being able to facilitate the contact of a psychologist, you can meet other people who are in your situation and who have benefited from psychological therapy.

The same case can be applied to caregivers or family members of a sick person who may need rest, relief or psychological advice since often they put the care of the patient before their charge rather than their own discomfort.

In all these cases, and knowing the family member or person affected by this type of warning signs, the idea is to try to approach him, speak with frankness and affection and offer your support.

Tracing The Links To Suicide - Are You Linked In?

By Connie J Lee

Recent research studies show teen suicide is on the rise due to social media bullying and isolation. Could the recent gun violence be attributed to teen mental illness? How can we lay a better foundation for our children and provide them with a more promising future? Having free mental health clinics in every city is a good start. It could be partially funded by grants, donations, and monies from the prison system. Releasing prisoners incarcerated for minor offenses, would free up resources that could be used for mental health system. Maybe because they get free labor and the prison system is a big business.

The new studies show the following:

Teens' use of electronic devices including smartphones for at least five hours daily more than doubled, from 8 percent in 2009 to 19 percent in 2015. These teens were 70 percent more likely to have suicidal thoughts or actions than those who reported one hour of daily use.

In 2015, 36 percent of all teens reported feeling desperately sad or hopeless, or thinking about, planning or attempting suicide, up from 32 percent in 2009. For girls, the rates were higher - 45 percent in 2015 versus 40 percent in 2009.

In 2009, 58 percent of 12th-grade girls used social media every day or nearly every day; by 2015, 87 percent used social media every day or nearly every day. They were 14 percent more likely to be depressed than those who used social media less frequently.

Other fascinating research studies I wanted to share with you and would love to receive your opinion on are from, Eleanor Nelson, about research done at the Child Emotion Lab, in Madison, WI; and a John Hopkins study, written by Sarah Knapton, Science Correspondent, in the Telegraph.

Their research shows that children of trauma and abuse have altered genes and high levels of cortisol, which leaves them in a high state of flight or fight. War veterans experience the same kind of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Child Emotion Lab and work conducted by Dr.'s Seth Pollak, Moshe Szyf, and. Dr. Pollak explains that children of abuse will endure a lot of physical ailments because of the emotional trauma they endure as a child of abuse. Dr. Szyf believes our experiences in life affect our genes significantly and can alter the way our cells function without changing the DNA functions; this is called epigenetics. Epigenetics explains how identical cells, with the same DNA can turn one cell into a liver cell, and one into a heart cell, or one into a cancer cell.

Dr. Szyf conducted a study on rat pups in 2005, at McGill University, with colleagues, and found the rat pups had a gene that helped them manage stress, called the NR3C1 gene. The NR3C1 gene was a methylated muted gene, made of tiny quartets of carbon and hydrogen atoms, which stick to the DNA, and derail the cellular machinery that translates genes into proteins. Dr. Pollok's staff checked the blood of children who came from abused homes and found they had the same methylated gene. NR3C1 is the gene that codes for the hormone cortisol, which helps you in flight or fight response, when you feel threatened.

A child in an abusive situation feels threatened continually, so this becomes a problem when the cortisol levels stay high, leading to adult heart disease, diabetes II, auto immune diseases due to inflammation, and other diseases. Having these genes damaged due to abuse, is similar to the damage due to radiation or drug abuse on a cellular level.

Many survivors suffer with emotional, psychological, and physical ailments, another issue is mental illness, depression, and suicide. Survivors have mentioned wanting to drive into oncoming traffic or to drive off a bridge; or think of other ways to commit suicide. With the holiday's coming up, I encourage you to surround yourself with those who love and support you, not family and friends who want you to pretend the abuse never happened because it is more comfortable for them in denial.

In another study by Dr. Zachary Kaminsky, at John Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD, they found the gene SKA2, which can predict if someone may likely take their own life. Researchers have found the gene, SKA2, in the prefrontal cortex, is responsible for controlling impulsive behavior and preventing negative thoughts. If the gene is altered, the body can't control the levels of cortisol in the system. Research showed victims had large amounts of cortisol in their system.

The blood test had a 90 % accuracy rate; and a 96% accuracy rate for those who have already attempted suicide, just by looking at their SKA2 levels.

Dr. Kaminsky thought this was important in placing patients on suicide watch, restricting drug access, equipment they might use, soldiers entering or returning from war, and what care to give.

The research was reported in the American Journal of Psychology.

With the new technology, what do you think about the progress of mental health? Do believe these studies are accurate? What can we do to improve mental health in our society?

Are You Really Eating Food That Is a Part of The Reactive Hypoglycemia Diet?

By Elvis Jackson Jr.

With reactive hypoglycemia, I've always said combat the disorder naturally with your lifestyle. This means through eating the right foods, on the right schedule and exercising frequently. Sounds simple enough right? Well, it is, in theory. However, as it's said, the devil is in the details.

When it comes to controlling RH and reducing the number of RH episodes you may suffer, personally I suggest eating foods low on the glycemic index-foods that will not spike your blood sugar. This includes foods like: blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, sweet potatoes, peanut butter, cheese, steak, chicken, fish, poultry, beef, nuts, etc. But when you are out on the road, can you just order blueberries and cheese? Can you just order cheese and fish? Well you can try, but I'm not sure what you will get with your order. Also, what about those protein shakes from those chain stores. They are supposed to be so healthy right? Are they though? Well, as it turns out, many of those places actually add sugar to their "healthy" smoothies. So think about it, you go into the store, order a shake expecting to be fine two to three hours later. However, instead, you end up with a surge of insulin that puts you on your butt-a full on tailspin brought on by reactive hypoglycemia. And just to think it was all caused by your "health food".

So what can you do about eating out or on the go? Well, you can of course take your own food or prepare it all together. That is an easy fix, right? And next time you order a smoothie, you can also be sure to tell those people who blend it all up to hold the sugar. Because most likely you don't need it.

People with [http://www.reactivehypoglycemiacure.com/]reactive hypoglycemia aren't like other people. Some people don't just simply get hyper off of a little too much sugar only to crash and get tired later. Some of us have it much worse. As our blood sugar surges, we have anxiety attacks, tachycardia, tremors, confusion and more. So always be sure you know what's in the food you're eating.

Over the years, I've had to develop a list of go to foods. Face it, I can't always make my own food, so I have to know what I can get to eat at different places if I'm hungry or out on the road. Ideally, it's like I always say, always know where your next meal is coming from.

Elvis writes on topics like cancer, self defense, politics and    reactive hypoglycemia.

What is payroll accounting?

On the income statement, payroll expenses are part of labor costs. They include employee salaries, employer payments for health insurance or similar benefits, payroll taxes paid by the employer, bonuses, commissions and similar expenses.

Components of a Payroll System

To make sure that they comply with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations and state and local government laws, companies must include crucial employee and company information in their payroll systems. Setting up and running the different components that comprise a payroll system requires due diligence and adequate knowledge of tax legislation.

Employee information

During the new hire process, companies must collect information such as medical insurance and W-4 forms to determine what should be deducted from an employee's paycheck. These forms also provide employers with crucial information, such as the employee's Social Security number and their withholding amount for federal and state tax purposes. The system must also track and process changes made to the employee's tax exemption status, pensions, insurance plans or retirement funds.

Salary information

As part of the new hire process, payroll systems include a component that designates which employees are full time, part time and contractors. Classifying workers in a payroll system is important since the government levies high penalties on companies that categorize employees incorrectly.

Timesheets

Without knowledge of the number of hours an employee has worked, employers cannot determine what to pay an employee. While some workers are paid a salary, others are compensated hourly or designated as nonexempt employees. Payroll systems include timesheet information or areas where hourly and nonexempt employee hours are recorded and reviewed for accuracy. Information can be collected through a computerized time clock, punch card stamp clock or paper timesheet.

Applicable taxes and deductions

Although the IRS provides companies with tax tables to calculate employee tax withholdings, vendors and payroll computer systems can also supply this information. Employers must consider year-to-date annual earnings, wage levels and tax allowances when summarizing applicable taxes. In addition, payroll systems must calculate deductions made through pension plans, 401(k)s, insurance plans, union dues and garnishments. The payroll department also monitors loans and other deductions that have cap amounts and ceases paycheck deductions when the total amount has been repaid.

Payroll register

The payroll register summarizes employee earnings and deduction information in a journal entry that is inserted into the general ledger for accounting and general research purposes. Payroll registers are also used to create tax reports. These documents are prepared by payroll staff or generated using payroll computer systems.

Manual payments

Occasionally, companies issue manual paychecks to employees between pay periods because of termination or a payroll error. Payroll systems must account for the check amount in the payroll register for tax and reporting purposes. This ensures that the employer's tax withholding amount is reconciled with employee deductions.

Payroll refers to the administration of employees' salaries, wages, bonuses, net pay, and deductions. It consist of the employee ID, employee name, date of joining, daily attendance record, basic salary, allowances, overtime pay, bonus, commissions, incentives, pay for holidays, vacations and sickness, value of meals and lodging etc. There are some deductions such as PF, taxes, loan instalments or advances taken by employee. While administrating the monthly payroll basic salary, HRA, conveyance, and other special allowances such mobile, etc are considered. There are some deductions which are provident fund (12%) of the salary, taxes and other deductions.

Deductions such as tax and loan/advances taken by the employee from organizations are deducted only where applicable. Dearness Allowance and House rent allowance is provided at a fixed rate stated by the employment law. Provident fund is deducted from the gross salary of employee on the monthly basis as per the employment law, which is provided later to the employee. Organizations also contribute the same amount to the provident fund of the employee.

Annual payroll consists of leave travel allowances, incentives, annual bonuses, meal vouchers/reimbursements, and medical reimbursements. Allowances, incentives, bonuses and reimbursements are based on organizational policies. Some organizations provided the allowances on a fixed rate say 10% or 12% of the basic salary. Some organizations go for performance based incentives.

Significance Of Payroll Outsourcing

The outsourcing industry is growing at a higher rate. HR outsourcing helps the HR professionals free themselves from the daily routine work and take part in the strategic level processes. Organizations really do not take HR as a strategic function; it is merely treated as paper work division. Therefore they want to reduce the cost being spent on HR activities.

In India payroll outsourcing is one of the HR processes and is being outsourced since 1997. Payroll outsourcing involves an external organization performing all the activities related to payroll management.

HR Consultancies such as Ma Foi and many other firms have come up with payroll outsourcing.Outsourcing organizations strive for providing cost saving benefits to their clients. The organizations use its marketing division thoroughly to acquire more number of clients and retain them. Payroll outsourcing does not provide much cost reduction but it yield in high quality. Since compensation outsourcing requires lot of market survey and industry knowledge, it is not easy for an organization to carry the tasks with its operational business activities.

Outsourcing has benefited not only the service providers but also organizations and economy of the country. It enables the management to focus on the core competencies and strategic planning. It maintains the confidentiality of the pay package offered to employees as it is an external body administrating. Organizations do not have to keep the track of law related to salaries and compensation; it is the outsourcing firm which has to look after it. It offers qualitative results. It is very much time saving and cost effective. It also offers legal protection as the outsourcing firm is responsible for all the legal matters.

Outsourcing firms enjoys the revenue benefits as the services are being offered to MNCs. Service exports have caused the economic system to develop more and contribute to GDP growth.

Health :Type 2 Diabetes - Changing Blood Sugar Levels Could Lead To Painful Peripheral Neuropathy

By Beverleigh H Piepers

In Type 2 diabetes control, the aim is to keep fasting blood sugar levels within a reasonable range and at a steady level throughout the day. Scientists at Taichung Veterans General Hospital and various other research facilities in Taiwan have found too big a change in the blood sugar reading could lead to a higher risk of developing painful peripheral neuropathy.

Their study was reported on in February 2018 in the journal Diabetes and Metabolism. A total of one hundred participants with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy were compared with...

175 participants who had been diagnosed with non-painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and

351 Type 2 diabetic participants without diabetic neuropathy.

The participants who had the highest number of changes in blood sugar levels had more than four times the risk of developing painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy as those who had stable levels.

Painful and non-painful peripheral diabetic neuropathy is caused by high blood sugar levels damaging the nerves. Preventing this complication of diabetes is one of the reasons to keep your levels under control with diet, exercise, and medications when needed.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is diagnosed in people with Type 2 diabetic according to signs and symptoms and physical examination. When the diabetic complains of having...

pins and needles or

painful sensations or

numbness in limbs,

they are examined for muscle tone, tendon reflexes, and their ability to feel touch, temperature, and vibration. The condition can be treated with...

pregabalin (Lyrica - also used for treating other nerve disorders, such as seizures, fibromyalgia, and postherpetic neuralgia (shingles).

gabapentin (Neurontin) - also used for anxiety, seizure disorders, headaches, hot flashes, shingles, and restless leg syndrome.

amitriptyline - also used to treat depression, migraine headaches, pain caused by multiple sclerosis, and insomnia.

duloxetine (Cymbalta) - also used to treat depression, anxiety disorder, and fibromyalgia.

Careful diet, exercise, and meal planning, along with blood monitoring and medication compliance, are crucial to keeping blood sugar levels from fluctuating too much. The American Diabetes Association has several books with instructions on meal planning and eating out in restaurants...

dietitians, physicians, and specially trained diabetes nurses can answer individual questions.

physicians and trainers can help with physical activity plans.

Blood sugar should be monitored four times a day and before and after exercise or as directed. New types of blood sugar monitors without the need for finger pricks or costly materials are now available. Type 2 diabetes can sound overwhelming when you are first diagnosed but think of it as similar to learning to read. All those words dealing with blood sugar and the disease itself, look a little like learning a foreign language, but taken in short doses is much less complicated to master.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

Health :Type 2 Diabetes - Can Diabetes Be Prevented Indefinitely?

By Beverleigh H Piepers

The first question you may have is: "can Type 2 diabetes be prevented?" You may have more to add before you have the answer...

"What if Type 2 diabetes runs in my family?"

"What if my background makes me vulnerable to diabetes?"

"What if I've been overweight most of my life?"

"What about my situation?"

The answer is a resounding yes, as you might have guessed. But you may wonder if the answer is the same if we are talking about an indefinite amount of time. Can diabetes be prevented forever? The answer to this one is not so simple.

Firstly, a set of conditions for Type 2 diabetes to be prevented must be in place. It requires more than just executing a couple of goals, like eating better or exercising on a regular basis. We can all do these things, but how many of us can follow through with these preventative measures week in, and week out?

If preventing the disease is on your mind, you must be ready to commit to a better lifestyle. Not just now, but tomorrow, and the next day, the next week and month, and so on. One thing is sure: you cannot passively prevent Type 2 diabetes. Prevention requires an active commitment. This does not mean you have to labor every day. If you can even consider it work all the time: is it that challenging for you to eat better? There are more difficult things you could do, with fewer payoffs.

If you can sustain a healthy lifestyle - the number one tool for preventing Type 2 diabetes - you can avoid developing the disease even if it runs in your family. You can...

lower your blood sugar levels,

keep your weight within a reasonable range,

and then shift your focus to something else.

Once your habits are in place, all you will need to do is maintain your efforts, which requires less willpower than it does to get started once you find you have out of control blood sugar levels and weight gain.

With that covered, the question becomes how to keep Type 2 diabetes at bay indefinitely. Unfortunately, the odds are stacked against you, and it is because we all share a harsh reality of life, depending on how you look at it - aging. With aging comes more health problems and fewer solutions. The older you get, the fewer guarantees you can count on.

Provided you maintain a healthy lifestyle and your health is the best it can be, there is an excellent chance you will avoid developing Type 2 diabetes and its many complications - even if you were predisposed to its development.

But can you be sure about its prevention? With time, the only thing you can be sure of is death. But does that not give you the motivation to make the most of your life? Your time is short, so do what you can to not spend it as a victim of Type 2 diabetes or any other preventable health issue.

Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

For nearly 25 years Beverleigh Piepers has searched for and found a number of secrets to help you build a healthy body. Go to http://DrugFreeType2Diabetes.com to learn about some of those secrets.

Travel :Bizarre Indian Traditions That Will Keep You Awestruck

By John Smith

India has always been a mysterious place that has been luring people from all parts of the world to explore this unfathomable wonderland. There is so much hidden and occult that is practiced in India and is hard to believe. Some traditions are so bizarre that it will give you goose bumps. So, if you are up for some adventure and thrill packed experience on your holidays to India there are some offbeat destinations that you would have to explore. So, book your tickets to India and get going.

Tossing Baby

The Solapur region in Maharashtra, India has this awkward custom to give long and healthy life to their children. Parents throw their babies off the top of a tower, around 50 feet tall. The falling babies are caught in a sheet by the people standing below. It is a common belief that such a practice will cure their children of ailments if any today and in future too. This is mostly done by Muslims and few of Hindu families too. The security services are also provided by the local authorities of the area during the performance of this weird practice.

The Aghori Sadhu Sect

The Aghoris are members of Hindu sect that have always been of great interest and suspicion in people. These Aghoris worship Lord Shiva, remain naked, reside on the cremation grounds, drink alcohol and eat flesh from dead bodies. They often coat themselves in ash and do strange rituals and meditation using dead bodies.

Shoe Stealing Ritual (Juta Churai Rasam)

This is a fun filled ritual in Hindus, which is often shown in Bollywood movies too. It is indeed an amusing activity that allows the sisters of the bride to steal the shoes of the bridegroom while he is involved in performing the traditional rituals of marriage. The cousins and friends of the groom try to protect the shoes from the robbery but if the girls succeed in their mission then they give the custody of the shoes when they are given a desired amount of ransom.

Dhinga Gavar Festival

It is a festival celebrated in Jodhpur, in Rajasthan state of India. Dhinga in literal form means fetching fun from deception. Dhingar Gavar is a folk deity. The legend goes that once Lord Shiva dressed up as a cobbler and came to tease his consort Parvati. Parvati too disguised a 'bhil', tribal women and came before Shiva to engage in that fun. The function of Dhinga gawar starts in the evening on the next day of Holi, every year. The statues of Dhinga gawar are put at 11 vital locations. The statues are decorated in tradition Rajasthani attire and decorated with gold jewellery weighing 5 to 30 kg.

Mourning of Muharram

To honour the death of Husayn ibn Ali(grandson of Muhammad), certain groups of Shiya sect of Muslims saunter on streets in groups and whip themselves with chains having knives and razors attached. Some of them even slit their heads open with knives. This peculiar ritual is called 'matam' and even children are encouraged to do so by certain families. Not all Muslims endorse this practice. Some condemn it too.

Human-Animal Marriage

It is believed in some parts of India that ghosts capture the bodies of some people. The girls who are born with a tooth already erupted or girls with facial deformities are believed to have been possessed by the ghosts. The exorcism of the victims is done by getting them married to an animal like a goat or a dog. The wedding takes place with full pomp and show, though the good part is that copulation is exempted and the girl is allowed to remarry after the ghost relieves her. I wonder on which parameter they make that analysis.

Lath mar Holi

Holi is the second largest festival of India after Diwali. Lath Mar Holi is a local celebration that takes place before actual Holi in Barsana, a town near Mathura, which is a birth place of Lord Krishna. As the local legend goes, Krishna visited the village Barsana of her beloved Radha where he and his friends teased her and her friends. To retaliate, the ladies invited Krishna and his friends to Barsana on Holi and hit them with sticks explaining that it is a ritual that is mandatory. Since then, the ritual is carried on in the same places and Lath Mar Holi is played by the people in Mathura and Vrindavan shouting Jai Shree Radha and jai Shree Krishna.

Weapon Worship in Navratri

Navratri is a famous festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity, Durga. Navratri literally means nine nights which symbolize nine forms of Shakti/Devi/Goddess which are worshipped with great reverence and rituals in various parts of India and in some parts the weapons and tools are worshipped.

Varuna Yajna (Hindu God of rain)

Agriculture is the major sector in India on which the economy of India depends and agriculture directly depends on the monsoon rains. If monsoon fails the farmers and the economy of the country suffers to a great extent. Sometimes scanty or no rainfall is the reason of farmers committing suicide. Such is the importance of rains for India. As we know India has 330 million Gods and Goddesses, there is also a God of rains, Lord Varuna. Whenever the monsoon fails or falls weak, Varun Yajna is performed to please the God of rains. During the performance of such Yajna, the Hindu priests sit inside the barrels filled with water and perform special prayers in order to gratify the rain God.

HomeBusiness :What Is Low Hanging Fruit And How To Find It

By Peter Mangini

Many internet entrepreneurs have trouble with their page rankings on Google and don't realize that there are a few things that they can do to help themselves in this area.

Some are working hard on their businesses and don't understand that they can not only find their page ranking but also get on the first or second page of the search engine result pages (or serp's). This can even be done using an unlimited number of low competition keywords.

Here's how you can use low competition keywords and create content that will get great search engine rankings and also will draw traffic to your site.

Seek Low Hanging Fruit Keywords

The most searched for, or high traffic, keywords are much more difficult to rank for on the first pages of the search engine results because of their high competition.

The Quoted Search Results

When starting a new website it's a good idea to focus on the lower hanging fruit keywords. QSR is an abbreviation for Quoted Search Results. These are the competing sites for that keyword phrase in Google that are counted when someone types in a phrase or "keyword". Any good keyword tool, Jaaxy.dotcom, will reveal the QSR of whatever word or phrase is entered in the search.

It's much easier to get on the first search results page with these keywords than to go for those at the top of the "tree" or the most used search terms. The more established sites will usually fill the first pages of the SERP's with their article content and videos.

Understanding the QSR of a keyword is very beneficial to your research of keywords because it gives you a great idea of how many competition pages there are on the Google search pages.

Once the new website is up and growing with increasing traffic and is rising within the search engines and is getting top page rankings using the lower competition keywords, it can then be a great time to start going after the first page rankings for the higher competition keywords or search engine terms.

How To Find The Low Hanging Fruit

The Alphabet Soup Technique

One of my favorite ways to find great keywords and the low hanging fruit is to use the alphabet soup technique on the products being considered. I can use Google's free keyword tool and come up with a lot of ideas as I research my product related keywords.

Example: let's say that we're researching "headphone" products. Into the Google search browser Enter:

headphone

headphones

headphone a

headphone b

headphones a

headphones b

c, d, e, f, g, etc.

Notice the keywords that are revealed in the browser drop down as you type. These are the most popular search terms used by those using that search engine to find a headphone product. You can see just what people are searching for and also get some great ideas for products.

Another example: When I enter into the Google search browser the word - headphone - in the drop down below the word appear these keywords: headphone jack, headphones wireless, headphone splitter, and headphone brands.

When I enter into the browser the word - headphones - these keywords appear in the drop-down browser: headphones wireless, headphones with microphone, headphones for kids, headphones for TV, and headphones Bluetooth.

When I start entering the alphabet soup technique it looks like this: I enter headphones a - and in the drop-down, I see these keywords: headphones amazon, headphones apple, headphones at Wal-mart, headphones adapter, and headphones at Target.

So you can clearly see the potential variety of used keywords within a niche or product using this technique.

I entered - headphones adults - and see these drop-down keywords: headphones for adults with autism, headphones for adults with small ears, headphones for older adults, and headphones for younger adults.

These are all low competition niches and keywords and each one gets its share of monthly searches.

You can choose as well just who your potential customers are and who the targeted audiences might be, kids, adults, tv, Bluetooth, brands, wireless, and many more as you go from a-z in your search entries to promote the product.

Create quality targeted content from low competition keywords

When you're writing an article focusing on your keyword and audience, ex. Headphones for adults with autism, your article should be focused on this group and serve them with its quality content every time. As your audience grows by targeting various groups, forums, and communities, your range continuously grows as your Google ranking rises quickly and you become an expert in your particular niche.

Every article needs to be focused on a certain group of like-minded individuals and should serve that group.

Another thing to consider is to extend the article title to make the title more attractive, ex. Instead of naming the article "The Best Headphones for adults" which might be a bit plain and used, focus on a type of adult, ex. "The Best Headphones For Adults With Small Ears". Now there's a niche group, or "Adults With Autism", etc.

It's much better to get first search engine result page rankings in a lower competitive group than tenth page ranking with a more competitive keyword.

Use sub-titles and short paragraphs for your readers

The average reader will skim over an article in about 15 seconds, catching the sub-titles and whatever else they find interesting. Most viewers don't want to spend their day on a website and smaller paragraphs are easier to read through than a huge ten sentence block of text.

Use relevant visuals such as images, banners, or charts.

It's best to add an image somewhere at the beginning of the article so that when the reader first sees the post, they also see a nice relevant image. Keep in mind that you want the viewer to read the article and too many images, banners, and pop-ups can be a real turn-off. Too many, and large images will also make the pages slower to load. Just a couple of medium size images will usually be enough to improve the visual appearance and article content.

Use a conversational writing style as if you're talking to the readers.

This comes naturally to some and not so for most. The great news is that everyone can improve quickly with regular practice. Try reading the article aloud and imagine being on the receiving end, does it sound natural, does it flow like it should? Ask yourself questions like that and your readers will keep coming back for more.

Here's a secret, but not really: When an article is first written it should be edited at least three times before publishing and then reviewed and improved every so often and re-submitted to the Google search engine @ Google dot com/addurl. Many times, instead of creating new articles, the best thing to do is recreate older ones and improving others.

Proper spelling and grammar with no foul language

This is also really important as an article with misspelled words and overly repeated or improper phrases, and foul language will turn away many viewers. How do, or would, you feel? I recently read a certain authors article and was really disappointed and stopped reading after three F-bombs, I don't want to see or hear that as I read an article.

The Quoted Search Results

As stated earlier, understanding the QSR of a keyword is very important for your research of keywords because it tells you how many competition pages there are on the Google search pages.

More often than not if you are targeting a low competition keyword under 100 QSR you will start getting those first page rankings in Google that will attract to your site or product the targeted audience that you're writing to.
