When Talk Is Done, Only Action Is Left

By Steve Wickham

We went to marriage counselling about two dozen times over three years, and some sessions were extended. We talked so much. We listened so much. We wrestled long and hard with many issues.

But it wasn't until we stopped and began to actually implement what we'd talked about and had been taught that we began to make progress. In our fourth year! And I'm sure that was the advice of our wise and trusted counsellor:

Go and do what can only be done. Stop talking about it. Stop being hearers and now go and be a doer.

None of us likes to hear those words, for they challenge our integrity and they convict us around hypocrisy.

Sometimes it takes a while to get to that place of, 'Yes, I've heard this before... too many times!'

I don't think we liked leaving those rooms thinking that we were on our own. But she was right. Our counsellor had done all she could do. We knew what we needed to do. We just needed to do it.

Much of what ails us in life is the knowledge that we ought to do something which we never quite have the will of commitment to do.

Finally, when we knew we were on our own, that there was nobody else to turn to, that we had done all the work of identification and assessment and rectification, we had to own what we could only do on our own.

When talk is done, and we know it's done by the way we repeat ourselves, there is only action left. And oh, what a day it is! It's momentous and tough and uncomfortable, and liberating and empowering and habit-breaking.

We honour those who invest in our lives most when we ignore what they say least. Those who sow their wisdom into our lives deserve a return on their investment.

It doesn't matter what we say if we don't do what we agree together is good and right and appropriate action. Especially as it pertains to others, like within marriage.

5 Steps to Increasing Your Physical Activity

By Bonnie R Giller

Physical activity is part of the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. Physical activity doesn't just mean keeping to a regimented fitness routine. There are lots of ways you can add exercise to your day so you can reap the benefits without breaking a sweat. If you prefer a strenuous workout, that's great, too! Just know that even getting up from your work desk every hour and taking a lap around the parking lot has health benefits.

1. Do a reality check: Be completely honest with yourself about how fit you are. Start off slowly. Many people bite off more than they can chew in the beginning, which leads to frustration, making it more likely that you'll stop before making real progress. Pick something you like so you'll be more likely to stick with it. Keep a record of your progress so you can see how far you've come.

2. Set a fitness goal and make a plan: Want to run a 5K but you've never run before? Maybe you want to move from a 5K to a 10K. Would you love to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded? Wherever you're starting from, be sure to start with a plan. Create realistic goals and reward yourself (without food!) when you reach them. Speak with someone who has experience doing what you want to do for pointers. Try to schedule your workouts as you would any other appointment.

3. Recruit a buddy: You're less likely to bail on a workout if you know a friend is waiting for you. Seek out a friend who has a "you can do it" attitude; that positive energy is contagious and will keep you going after the initial excitement of starting something new wears off. An activity partner is also good for any emotional support you may need along the way. If you need to meet with a coworker, walk over to their desk instead of sending an email, or suggest taking a walk outside instead of sitting in a conference room.

4. Fuel your body: Physical activity burns calories so you may find you're hungrier once you start moving more. Pay attention to your hunger and satiety signals. Choose whole foods like fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Balanced eating will keep your energy stores full and help build muscle. Water is also a type of fuel. Your body doesn't work as efficiently if it's dehydrated so aim for at least 8 cups of water each day, before, during, and after your physical activity.

5. Don't give up: Some days will be easier than others. Life gets in the way sometimes and you may miss a workout because you're sick or because you simply need a break. The key to continuing your success is to not throw in the towel if you miss a few days. Everyone misses days, but people who stick with their routines don't let those missed days derail their overall success. Progress is made slowly over time, so pick up wherever you left off and keep up the great work!

Physical activity is a fun way to start building your healthy lifestyle. Every little bit helps, so whether you want to try an indoor cycling class or be able to play catch with your kids, your journey starts with the first step!

How To Price Your Products As Ecommerce Businesses

By Alex Chaidaroglou

Pricing your products as an ecommerce store owner can be one of the most difficult jobs you will ever do in that business. Although pricing is not always a deal breaker for consumers, as often they are not simply looking to buy the cheapest product, it's always an important part of the equation.

In essence, you have to figure out the right balance of profit-making per unit and the optimum number of purchases. There are plenty of strategies to price your products and help you do the above, but the best way is to usually mix at least 2 strategies.

Pricing can really make or break your ecommerce business, so it's important to spend enough time here to get it right. Also, don't forget that depending on your overall strategy you can add other tactics into the mix to increase the profit from each customer and their lifetime value.

Before we dive into the strategies, let's get our facts straight first. You need to know the following before you develop a pricing strategy or formula:

1) The margins of your products.

This is relatively easy to do. You calculate the cost of each unit of a specific SKU (transit to your warehouse and any other fees included). Then you try different prices and you simply follow this formula:

(Price - Cost) / Price

This simple formula will give you your margins for each product. Under no circumstances should you put a price on that product that results in a negative number.

2) Cost of advertising.

Are you going to advertise your products? Chances are that you will and most probably online.

You should add to your costs the cost of advertising to promote that specific product or simply divide it between all your SKUs.

For example, if you spend $3K each month on Google AdWords to promote your products and your ecommerce store, you should divide that between all your products equally.

With those 2 basics out of the way, let's move on to some simple pricing strategies for ecommerce businesses old and new. Remember that you can use any of them or ideally a combination of them. What works best for you will depend on your location and market, don't blindly copy others.

Pricing Strategy 1: Cost-based Pricing

This is one of the most popular and simplistic pricing strategies both for ecommerce stores and brick and mortar retail stores.

The way it works is by simply taking the cost of a unit as identified in step 1 (transportation and other variable costs included) and then either simply add the desired margin on top of that or a simple fixed amount of money that you deem optimal. The total amount will be the final price of the product.

The 2 challenges with this approach are that you have to figure out the exact cost of each unit without forgetting any costs out and that you have to know that cost in order to always stay above it during promos etc.

If an ecommerce business has really nailed down its operations aspect of the business they can easily utilize this method with minimal effort.

How much overhead you will add is up to you, but usually, the employees' salaries are left out of the equation.

The second tricky part is how much profit to add. A part of it can be done from experience and another part (or the whole part) from tracking competitors' prices that sell the same or similar products.

Pricing too high or too low can cripple your sales. Doing a check of your competitors by hand first and then regularly with a software can help you stay on top of them.

Pricing Strategy 2: Market-oriented Pricing

Expanding from the last section of the previous strategy, this strategy is also called competition-based strategy and it factors in what your competitors are doing and in what condition the market is in.

This is a good strategy for commoditized products and if you can compete on price. Usually, this is paired with another pricing strategy like #1, cost-based pricing. In essence, it helps you identify when to lower your prices in order to get more sales, but without compromising your profitability from #1.

Not only that but when your products are too low, you can also increase that price, remain the cheapest vendor and squeeze that extra profit.

Pricing Strategy 3: Consumer-oriented Pricing

This is also called value-based pricing and it's usually for non-commoditized products. In these cases, the value is usually sold and the price has just to be reasonable.

For example, a novelty product that might not have direct competitors can follow that pricing strategy, while highlighting its benefits over older or other competing products.

Conclusion

Focusing solely on revenue and number of sales might prove disastrous if you don't have a solid and profitable pricing strategy. By utilizing pricing tools you can always stay competitive and paired with the right pricing strategy you can keep your sales and profits up and to the right!

The Election Of Souls

By Chris Bouter

The purpose of the election of souls by God is to wed two wives to Christ, to wit the heavenly and the earthly Jerusalem; that they may rule with Him over the nations for ever; as well as over the lost in hell. The blesseds will worship the Father and the Son forever and will be rewarded according to their works in appropriate degrees. The lost will be punished in various degrees as well. For the Lord states that those that knew the will of the Lord will be beaten with many stripes and those that did not, with few. The Lord warns us about the eternal and inextinguishable fire and the weeping and gnashing of tears and the worm that does not die. Because He talks about varying degrees of pain, we must not think that there will be only weeping and gnashing of tears. It does not say that. This means that there will be weeping and gnashing of tears intermittently in different degrees. However the soul flame most likely will be there all the time, witnessing the story of the rich man and Lazarus.

The verse from Exodus 33. 19 I will have mercy with whomever I will have mercy, quoted in Romans 9 and elaborated with the history of Pharaoh and the comparison of the potter that from the one lump makes an honorable vessel and a dishonorable one; is used by sceptics and doubters to accuse God of injustice. And that is exactly what Paul says, who are we to question God's justice. Let us see and understand that the Lord spoke those words to Moses after the Israelites had made the golden calf and had dishonored themselves. And as to Pharaoh, he hardened his heart all the time and only after that at a certain time it is said that God hardened Pharaoh's heart. It was too late for him.

In this context I would like to quote Calvin, who reasoned that if God would have elected nobody, we all would land in eternal hell. For just like the Israelites of old, we all have corrupted ourselves and there is nobody that is understanding, nobody that searches for God, as the psalm puts it. That is the terrible situation. This also shows that there is no predestination towards hell. Everyone of us is already on his or her way to hell and God gives us chances to be saved from that. Let us therefore listen to Him and obey His call to repentance and conversion.

Now the Church, the Bride of Christ, has been elected, foreknown from before the foundation of the earth and all others, from Adam and Eve to Noah, from Noah to Abraham and from Abraham to Pentecost and from after the Rapture, those people have been elected from the foundation of the earth. Another difference is that Christians have the Holy Spirit indwelling and the others have the Holy Spirit upon them. But all have to be born again to be saved. This is what Christ calls an earthly thing to Nicodemus. David was born again and he confirmed it with the words blessed is he whose transgressions have been forgiven, whose sins have been covered."

The 2nd Revolution

By Dr. Tim G Williams

Today, we live in a world filled with deception, deceit, and lies. The United States government continues to perpetrate gross injustices on the public. Sadly, though there really hasn't been a unified effort to make our government accountable for all the travesties they have imposed on the American citizen. Remember the 99% movement of just a few years ago. That protest never got organized for if it did maybe just maybe things would be a little bit better today. It is the public though that have been so indoctrinated in accepting whatever the government mandates. There have been countless numbers of unfunded mandates imposed on the American citizen all of which have put financial strains on practically every American. That is just part of the issues facing us today.

The bigger crisis facing us today requires us to realize that there are two groups of men in the world today. On one hand there are men allied with the Creator. Then there are those who alien themselves with the Created. A battle for supremacy as one would put it, men allied with life and living verses men allied with things other men created like money and corporations. It is this battle that has been waged for centuries. We always have a choice between what is truly valuable, like life, health, family, food, homes and communities. Others look at what is valuable in quite a different scope. An illusion if you will where they feel corporations, money and all else that substitutes itself for what is actual. For thousands of years, Mankind has been living in an illusion, half-asleep, unconscious, manipulated, and abused. It couldn't be any truer than right in the United States.

To many people don't realize that the United States is basically a corporate instrument of the international banking conglomerates. What this means is that every American are owned by the corporation aka, the government of the United States. This also means that the corporate United States holds ownership of all your assets, your property and even ones children. Think about all the bills we are forced to pay, all those various taxes and fines and even licenses we have to pay for. And, all this started in 1871.

When congress passed the Act of 1871 and subsequent legislation we the people have been deceived ever since into thinking we are free and independent when in actuality we continue to be slaves and servants of the corporation. Our ignorance of the facts has led to our silence and our silence has been construed as our consent to become beneficiaries of a debt we did not incur. The fact of the matter is that treason was committed against the People with the passage of the Act of 1871. Through lust for money and power this act was never corrected. We the people have lost more freedom than we realize due to the corporate infiltration of government.

Our ignorance of the law has led this nation to the brink of disaster. It is everyone's responsibility and our obligation as an American to learn about the law and how it applies to everyone. The government has for decades counted on the fact that most people are either too distracted, lazy or uninterested to see what is actually happening to the nation. We the People have been for too long mentally conditioned to allow the alleged government to act with impunity.

Today, it is though no one really cares to know just what the Act of 1871 has done to the very core of America. Just think of all the wars and courageous men and women who laid down their lives for the preservation of the ideals of our founding fathers. When in fact those ideals were tossed aside by the lust for money and power. What we need today is a Revolution in thought and in our thinking if we are to ever have a chance to right the wrongs imposed by unscrupulous individuals who continue to act in accordance with the welfare of the Corporate United States.
