If you're looking for a travel destination where you could indulge yourself with the wonders of nature, the warmth of the sun while you enjoy the sand and the sea, or with cheap thrills, the Philippines is the perfect getaway for these types of adventures It is heaven for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city without having to spend a fortune.
It's More Fun in the Philippines
It's More Fun in the Philippines - this is the country's slogan for their tourism campaign. It's a very catchy phrase that the country could easily live up to due to its abundance of natural beauty and its low cost of living. If you're on a tight budget and you badly need to have a getaway, you will get more than your money's worth here.
Food
The Philippines being the only Catholic nation in South East Asia means their food choices aren't just limited to halal delicacies, aside from the fact that their food is also cheap. A sumptuous meal at a regular restaurant would only cost you $2 at the most and dining at a posh restaurant would just cost you $5 for a full meal with sides and drinks. Not only will your soul be filled with wanderlust, your tummy will also be satisfied with the country's sumptuous delicacies.
Attractions
Local attractions are mostly open parks, gardens, mountains, cultural sites, waterfalls, lakes, and beaches, which means there's really nothing for you to spend on to enjoy their attractions. Unless you intentionally go to their theme parks which are not what the country is famous for.
Beaches
The country is so blessed with beautiful beaches. There are many open resorts that you could head on to if you don't want to spend a dime enjoying their beaches. If you want to party by the beach, you can travel to "Boracay," but if you prefer a more laid back beach experience, Siargao, Mati, and Davao offer the best beaches and resorts for this experience. And again, they're all very cheap.
Transportation
Getting around is very easy. Their jeepney is more efficient than buses and they could literally take you from point a to point b easily. And, sometimes, jeepneys could even take you to the doorsteps of malls, literally. What's great about it is that it' also very cheap: $0.25 for a one-way fare to nearby places, while $0.50 for those that are a bit far. Even their taxis are cheap, $3 could already take you very far, literally.
Accommodation
Perhaps this is the cheapest country where you could enjoy an extensive vacation experience, even hotels here will provide you a pampering experience for a very affordable price. A night at a 4-star hotel in the Philippines would just cost you around $25 to $50. If you're backpacking you could just imagine how cheap it is to just rent a bed at a hostel for a night.
Aside from the abundance of nature-centric attraction, taking into the equation the cost of living in the Philippines, budget traveler or not, you'll surely have more fun here than elsewhere.
